Sermon by Carl McCray: The Advantage of Appreciation

Gratitude is a great asset. However, gratitude is only useful when it is put into action. Faith is the key and God responds to our faith. Pastor Carl McCray teaches from Luke 2 about the 10 lepers whom Jesus healed. Only one returned to Jesus to thank Him. Let’s not be like the nine – but be like that one. The advantage of appreciation is this – gratitude can open the door for more. Look at the one who returned to thank Jesus. He learned the rest of the story. He received salvation that day (Luke 17:19 NIV)

Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.” Luke 17:17-19 NIV

Put gratitude into practice! To do that, make a list of who you need to thank, and make an effort. Remember, this also applies to Jesus. When was the last time you got on your knees and thanked Jesus for something? Count your blessings and look to the source of those blessings – JESUS!

Watch the video and be blessed!
