Message: Picking Up the Pieces: Surviving the Failure of Sin (2 Samuel 11-12)

Sin hurts you and those around you as well. When we sin, others pay the price. When we lose our temper, others suffer. When we lie, others suffer. When we are unfaithful, others suffer. The book of Second Samuel tells us about David, how he seduced Bathsheba, had her husband killed, then took her as his wife. As David began his rendezvous with Bathsheba, he probably never gave any thought whatsoever about the consequences of his sin. We can learn some lessons from David. When confronted, David admitted he had sinned against the Lord (2 Samuel 12:13). This is the first step to surviving the failure of sin – confession. Confess your sins, take full responsibility for your actions, and surrender your will to God’s will. You know what God does when we do that? He forgives totally and completely. That’s the goodness of God. You can survive the failure of sin. You can experience God’s grace today and be forgiven.

Message: Picking Up the Pieces: Surviving Failed Relationships (2 Samuel 19)

None of us are immune to failure. We’ve all had our experiences with a failed relationship; spouses, friends, or a parent and child. It’s hard to pick up the pieces. Proverbs 24:16 tells us “Though a righteous man falls seven times, he will get up.” There are some lessons to be learned. Listen and be blessed.
