Message: God Can
God can do more that we can think or imagine.
Do you hunger and long for what only God can do? Are you allowing God to work through you? Is there evidence of God’s grace in your life? If you don’t have that hunger and desire, God wants you to have it today. He’s knocking on the door. Things don’t have to stay the same. Whatever doubts you have, just remember that God can.
May we, the church, experience more of God’s power in the future than we have seen in the past!
Prayer: Lord, stretch out your hand and do what only You can do. May your hand be upon us!
The Lord’s hand was with them, and a great number of people believed and turned to the Lord.
Something supernatural from heaven invaded those gathered in the upper room on the day of Pentecost and it changed them forever. What happened? The disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit. That’s what happened. Our greatest need today is for those who know Jesus to experience what the early disciples experienced. If we really want to impact our community, our school, our workplace, we need to be filled with God’s Spirit. 1 Peter 4:11 says, “If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God.”
When was the last time you witnessed someone living their life sold out for Jesus instead of the casual commitment that so many have today? How long has it been since you have been “stirred?” When God speaks, do you listen? The world is looking for evidence that our Christianity is real, that it has made a difference and has changed our lives.
Would you give God, the Holy Spirit, permission to do something supernatural in your heart and life today? If so, get ready. If not, you’re going to miss out.
PRAYER:Lord, revive your work in me. I don’t want to miss another day without experiencing Your best. Transform me to be the person you have called me to be. Amen.
“When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tonguesas the Spirit enabled them.” – Acts 2:1-4 (NIV)
If you know Jesus Christ as your Savior, then you have a story to tell. Your story may have a huge impact on those around you and have the power to change the world! God’s Word tells us in 1 Peter 3:15 to “…always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” Listen as Pastor Carl teaches from Acts 26 about the apostle Paul who shared his story of what God had done in his life. Every follower of Jesus can share their faith with the same boldness and courage as Paul. As believers, Its our mission to point others to Jesus!
