Message: It’s Never Too Late (Psalm 85)

We focus on accomplishments that are important to us, and our busyness can become excuses to neglect spiritual priorities. God offers forgiveness. He can restore us. He can revive us. Only God can grant us salvation. Listen to God. He promises peace to His people (John 14:27). Hear and believe! You can have emotional stability throughout any storm in life. Has your busyness become an excuse to neglect your spiritual priorities? It’s not too late to listen to the Lord.

I will listen to what God the Lord says;
he promises peace to his people, his faithful servants—
but let them not turn to folly.

Psalm 85:8 (NIV)

Message: You Don’t Have to Guess… Take the Test

Don’t assume anything. Don’t jump to conclusions. It can be very dangerous when it comes to salvation and eternity. In our text today (1 Corinthians 11:23-30) Paul was telling the Corinthians to take a spiritual test to examine their own heart. I challenge you today to examine yourself spiritually. Eternity is a long time to be wrong. What is your spiritual temperature? Are you hot or cold? Are your spiritual arteries clogged with sin? Are you nourishing yourself with God’s word? Come to the best doctor and his name is Jesus. Don’t gamble with your soul. Trust Jesus.

TAKE THE TEST

  1. What do you believe with?
      Romans 10:9-10
☐ Heart ☐ Head
  2. What do you trust in?
       Ephesians 2:8-9
☐ Grace ☐ Works
  3. How did you feel when you were saved?
       Proverbs 28:13
☐ Humble ☐ Proud
  4. What is your chief goal in life?
       1 John 2:15-17, Matthew 6:33
☐ To serve God ☐ To serve yourself
  5. Who do you love?
       1 John 3:14-15
☐ God and all others ☐ God and some

May 27, 2018 Memorial Day | Morning Worship Service | Carl McCray, Pastor

Message: Freedom! (Galatians 5)

Memorial Day is for remembering, rejoicing, and ringing out. On Memorial Day, we remember the ones who sacrificed. We rejoice because they didn’t die for nothing. We rejoice for our freedom! Because of them, we have the freedom to preach about God, to assemble as Christians, and to worship. We also remember the sacrifice Jesus made on our behalf and His triumphant resurrection (1 Corinthians 11:23-26 NIV). The only way to experience genuine freedom is through Jesus Christ. As Christians, we are to be the light of the world and the salt of the Earth (Matthew 5:13-16 NIV), and we have a message to ring out!

“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” – Galatians 5:1 NIV

On Memorial Day, we remember the ones and THE ONE who sacrificed for our freedom. Have you found freedom in the Lord Jesus Christ?

Blessings,

The Jesus Way – Words to Live By (Mark 12:28-31)

We have been exploring how to live and lead like Jesus. Today, we are going to take a closer look at the greatest of all commandments found in Mark 12:28-31. We will break them down so we know what they mean and how to put them into practice. These words to live by reminds us:

  1. God comes first (Mark 12:30 NIV)
  2. how fundamental love is (Mark 12:30-33 NIV)
  3. how valuable people are (Mark 12:31 NIV)
  4. how special you are (Mark 12:31 NIV)

If you want to live a Christian life that is pleasing to God, It all comes down to this: loving God, loving others, and also loving yourself. In everything we do, we need to remember that God comes first. Our top priority is loving God, and then everything else falls into place. If your love is not where it needs to be, if you lack love for God and for others, what is the step you should take? That step is to repent and ask God for forgiveness. You have a choice.
