Message: Freedom! (Galatians 5)

Memorial Day is for remembering, rejoicing, and ringing out. On Memorial Day, we remember the ones who sacrificed. We rejoice because they didn’t die for nothing. We rejoice for our freedom! Because of them, we have the freedom to preach about God, to assemble as Christians, and to worship. We also remember the sacrifice Jesus made on our behalf and His triumphant resurrection (1 Corinthians 11:23-26 NIV). The only way to experience genuine freedom is through Jesus Christ. As Christians, we are to be the light of the world and the salt of the Earth (Matthew 5:13-16 NIV), and we have a message to ring out!

“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” – Galatians 5:1 NIV

On Memorial Day, we remember the ones and THE ONE who sacrificed for our freedom. Have you found freedom in the Lord Jesus Christ?

Blessings,

Burgin Baptist Church

Sermon: Ordinary to Extraordinary (Judges 6:11-24)

God took Gideon, an ordinary person, and used him to do some extraordinary things. Just like Gideon, God wants to take ordinary us and do something extraordinary! However, we tend to focus on ourselves, what we are, instead of who God is. He is able! Don’t make excuses about what the Lord wants you to do. Just do it! God has a plan for all of us. Make the most of the opportunities the Lord gives you. Be faithful, be focused, and follow God.

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”  Galatians 6:9 (NIV)

Sermon Series: What is the Gospel? (Galatians 1)

Join Burgin Baptist Church and Pastor Carl McCray for the first sermon in a series titled What is the Gospel.  We must have the correct understanding and definition of what is the Gospel and how it is biblically displayed in our lives.  There is only one Gospel that can save.  Let us be reminded of what we have forgotten or taken for granted and be encouraged to share the true Gospel – the biblical Gospel that is God’s plan to save sinners.
