Message: What Shall I Do?

Why did Jesus have to die? To answer this question, we will travel back in time and answer these questions. Who was Barabas? Why did the crowd choose Barabas? What difference does it make? What does it mean to us?

What shall I do with Jesus? Choices, choices, choices! No one can escape this question. You can choose Jesus or the world’s way. You must make a choice. The world leads to destruction; but Jesus died so you could be forgiven. Your decision effects your eternity. I pray you choose Jesus today.

Blessings,

The Jesus Way – Words to Live By (Mark 12:28-31)

We have been exploring how to live and lead like Jesus. Today, we are going to take a closer look at the greatest of all commandments found in Mark 12:28-31. We will break them down so we know what they mean and how to put them into practice. These words to live by reminds us:

  1. God comes first (Mark 12:30 NIV)
  2. how fundamental love is (Mark 12:30-33 NIV)
  3. how valuable people are (Mark 12:31 NIV)
  4. how special you are (Mark 12:31 NIV)

If you want to live a Christian life that is pleasing to God, It all comes down to this: loving God, loving others, and also loving yourself. In everything we do, we need to remember that God comes first. Our top priority is loving God, and then everything else falls into place. If your love is not where it needs to be, if you lack love for God and for others, what is the step you should take? That step is to repent and ask God for forgiveness. You have a choice.

Following The Jesus Way (Mark 10:46-52)

The desire of Burgin Baptist Church is that everyone learns to live and to love and to lead just like Jesus. Today, we will look at how Jesus responded to a blind man and learn how to follow the Jesus Way.

In the Jesus Way, every person is important (Mark 10:49). The Jesus Way focuses on others. We should train our ears and eyes to hear and see just like Jesus. Jesus was not oblivious to the needs of others. The Jesus way doesn’t get distracted. Never lose sight of your mission.

When you follow the Jesus Way, you ask, “What can I do for you” (Mark 10:51). The Jesus Way is always about helping others. If you know Jesus as your Savior, you are called to be a servant and help others.  Our focus should be on what we can give instead of what we can get.

The Jesus Way doesn’t expect a payback (Mark 10:52). Jesus never said “now you owe me!”

Are you walking in the Jesus Way? We invite you today!

The Jesus Way to be Great (Mark 10:32-45)

What is the Jesus way to be great? Jesus made this statement, “Even the son of man did not come to be served but to serve.” (Mark 10:45 NIV). He is our example that we are to follow. Examine your heart and ask yourself, “Am I a servant the Jesus way? Am I following after Him?”

The Jesus Way to be great….

  1. Focus on what you can give (rather than on what you can get).
  2. Be willing to pay the price.
  3. Put others first.

Blessings,
