Mother’s Day Service: Making An Impact
It’s not easy being a mom. Mothers do so much. A mom’s job includes taxi driver, chef, doctor, judge (especially if you have two or more children), and lawyer just to name a few. The second Sunday of May has been established to honor mothers, so on this day we say, ‘Happy Mother’s Day.’ Today, Mother’s Day 2017, we will focus specifically on mothers. I want to introduce you to some women in scripture, a young women named Eunice and her mother, Lois.
5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. – Deuteronomy 6:5-7 NIV
Like Eunice, the mother of Timothy, and Lois, the grandmother of Timothy, God wants to use you to instill within your children a respect for the scriptures, an authentic faith, and a desire to minister. As a mom and as a grandmother, you can have a serious spiritual impact on your children!
