Message: Making A Difference (Part 4: Make the Most of Each Day)

Passage: Philippians 3:7-14

How can we make the most of the remainder of this year? Carpe diem –  seize the day! Those in Christ should make the most of each day.

  1. 1) Put the past behind us.
  2. 2) Take the road that is before us.
  3. 3) Aim for that which is beyond us.

Put the past behind us. Let go of mistakes we’ve made, the sins we’ve committed. A “back then” mindset keeps us from focusing on today. Put the past where it belongs – in the past. Regardless of your past, the game is not over.

Take the road that is before us. It’s the 2nd half of your game. Press on toward the goal to win the prize. Ask yourself, “What can I do today to make the most of this day that will move me closer to Christ? That will be pleasing to God and bring Him glory?” Look at your day everyday.

Aim for that which is beyond us. Keep on reaching. God is calling you to stretch, to reach (Philippians 3:12-23). It may seem impossible, but keep reaching. Each and every day, dare to reach again. Every ounce of your effort is worth it. If you want your life to be everything God wants it to be, you keep reaching. Keep reaching for the high calling of the Lord Jesus.

Blessings,

February 23, 2020 Morning Worship with Pastor Carl McCray, guest speaker, Tim Darland, for Gideon International, and special music by the BBC Quartet

Passage:  Philippians 1:6

God is faithful. Philippians 1:6 teaches us that God starts the work in us. He keeps us from falling (Jude 1:24). God equips us to do His will (Hebrews 13:20-21), and He promises to complete His work (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24). What is the greatest miracle? The greatest miracle of all is the transformation of a sinner into a saint. Has there ever been a time that God started a good work in you? If not, God wants to, and He can today! Simply place yourself in His hands.

December 31, 2017 New Year’s Eve Sunday Morning Worship | Carl McCray, Pastor

Can 2018 be a happy new year? (Philippians 3:12-14 NIV)

As you look toward 2018, do you have a feeling of enthusiasm or excitement about what God can do? Or are you filled with dread, worried that 2018 might be worse than last year? Our attitude and our reactions to what happens in our lives will determine if we live this year in victory or defeat. The Apostle Paul never let the circumstances he faced get him down. With God, he was determined to live a life that would bring victory to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So, can 2018 be a blessed and happy new year? It can be if we will do some simple things that Paul was doing.
