Message: What It Takes To Be A Good Crew (Colossians 3:23)

What does it takes to be a good crew, to be a good Christian, to be a good church? Opportunities must be grasped and taken, but so many people only do the least to get by. However, we can make a difference. You can make a difference. Burgin Baptist Church can make a difference. We have a great God! We need godly leaders and we need eager participants. A good crew needs enthusiasm (Colossians 3:23), determination (Galatians 6:9), and a vision. As a church, we can be a good crew because we have a great God. it’s up to you.

Blessings,

Burgin Baptist Church

Day of Refreshing – One Day Revival with Kenny Evans

This was certainly a Day of Refreshing and a great revival! Kenny Evans is an evangelist whom you may know from “The American Oldies Show” in Pigeon Forge, TN.  Kenny blessed us with a sermon and a few songs during  morning worship. He doubly blessed us that evening with a concert filled with fun, songs, laughter and his very serious testimony. Wow, what a testimony! If you missed it, check it out now. You will be blessed!

Message: Picking Up the Pieces: Surviving the Failure of Sin (2 Samuel 11-12)

Sin hurts you and those around you as well. When we sin, others pay the price. When we lose our temper, others suffer. When we lie, others suffer. When we are unfaithful, others suffer. The book of Second Samuel tells us about David, how he seduced Bathsheba, had her husband killed, then took her as his wife. As David began his rendezvous with Bathsheba, he probably never gave any thought whatsoever about the consequences of his sin. We can learn some lessons from David. When confronted, David admitted he had sinned against the Lord (2 Samuel 12:13). This is the first step to surviving the failure of sin – confession. Confess your sins, take full responsibility for your actions, and surrender your will to God’s will. You know what God does when we do that? He forgives totally and completely. That’s the goodness of God. You can survive the failure of sin. You can experience God’s grace today and be forgiven.

Blessings,
