Different Turf (Mark 8:31-38)

Good News Testimony

Special thanks to Ron Roberts who shared his testimony of his trials and struggles, his faith in God, and how God has taken care of him. Thank you also to Brother Dan, our Guest Speaker from Gideons International.

Move to a Different Turf

Many Christians today are on board for the parties and the potlucks. However, when it comes to discipline, training, memorizing scripture, and being held accountable, sometimes they get angry. God desires for everybody to have such a great desire in our hearts that we would reflect the love and compassion of Jesus – not just at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, but every morning and all day long. His desire is for us to be eager to share the Good News. His desire is for us to have a deeper walk with Him. If we are not reflecting the love of Christ and the compassion of Jesus as we know we should, God is calling you out. He has more for you that what you are experiencing. God calls every Christian from the wiffle ball field to the big leagues – to a different turf – to be a fully committed, passionate follower of the Lord Jesus.

Are we living with the end in view? This past week, have you been thinking about the things of God or focused on the things of man? Are you where God wants you to be? Is God calling you out?

Sermon Series: What is the Gospel? (Galatians 1)

Join Burgin Baptist Church and Pastor Carl McCray for the first sermon in a series titled What is the Gospel.  We must have the correct understanding and definition of what is the Gospel and how it is biblically displayed in our lives.  There is only one Gospel that can save.  Let us be reminded of what we have forgotten or taken for granted and be encouraged to share the true Gospel – the biblical Gospel that is God’s plan to save sinners.
