Message: The First Step is the Hardest (Luke 15:11-32)

Sermon on the Parable of the Lost Son

Special Music by Kaylee McCray and Jamie Isaacs

Is is possible to know God and yet be far away from Him? Are you like the prodigal son in the “far country?” Where is the “far country”, you ask? The far country isn’t very far away, it’s one step outside of God’s will. Sin leads to more sin, and you will reap what you sow (Galatians 6:7).

God loves you enough to let you go, and God loves you enough to welcome you back home. God is calling you home. The first step is the hardest.

Blessings,

Message: Christmas 365

Special Music: solo by David Woodward

Would you like to have Christmas all year round? If so, the first step is to become a Christian. Until Jesus becomes your Savior, you’re missing the point of Christmas. Have you ever made a decision in your life to follow Jesus? John 8:32 tells us “the truth will set you free.” The truth is that we are all sinners and we all need Jesus.

As Christians, we can celebrate Christmas 365 days a year by:

  1. Proclaiming (spreading) the good news of Jesus – Luke 2:172)
  2. Wondering – being filled with holy wonder/amazement – Luke 2:18
  3. Pondering on what Jesus has done and wants to do for us – Luke 2:19
  4. Glorifying and praising God – Luke 2:20

Are you a Christian? Have you ever chosen to follow Jesus? You can today!

Blessings,

Burgin Baptist Church

Message: Christmas Means Salvation

Worship with Music: Interpretive Movement to “Until You”
by Hannah Sanders

Christmas, in a word, means salvation. Jesus came to break the chains of whatever binds you. He came to set you free. Life has a way of getting the best of us, but Jesus will carry our burdens if we let Him. Everyone needs a one-on-one relationship with Jesus. Jesus wants to establish His everlasting kingdom in your heart today.

Do you know Jesus personally? Are you at peace with God? if not, you can be today.

Blessings,
