Message: God’s Provision

God uses all kinds of things and different types of people to accomplish His purposes. For example, He used the beauty of Esther to save His people from the evil plans of Haman. He used David with his sling and a stone to save His people. He used Samson and a jawbone of a donkey. He used Moses and a rod to open up the Red Sea. He also chose to use floods, a burning bush, and in donkey to achieve His purposes and goals. In today’s scripture (John 6:1-9) God used something very small to do something incredibly large. A boy had five small barley loaves and two small fish. God used what was in the boy’s hands to feed 5,000 men. Without the touch of the Lord, the loaves and fish would have been inadequate.

What’s in your hands? What talents and abilities do you possess? God wants to use you and me to exalt Jesus and expand His Kingdom; but He can’t until we give Him what’s in our hands. Don’t worry about what you don’t have or can’t do. Instead, concentrate on what you do have and what you can do. Little is much when God is in it. What’s in your hands? Are you willing to give it to the Lord?

“Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?” John 6:9 NIV

Message: Freedom from Your Past

We have all been labeled something. Remember how it was in school? Kids can be cruel and they can label you with a cruel nickname that they won’t let you forget. The past can be much worse than a mean-spirited kid at school. The past can drag us down. If we are not careful, the past can begin to hinder the future that God has for us and what we can accomplish for Him.

God can give you freedom from your past. If you will surrender to Jesus, God will give you a new name. One that defines your potential and who you are. God will give you a future worthy of your new name. Refuse to settle for anything less than all that God has promised you. God is faithful to His Word!

Do you need freedom from your past? Today, God is offering you freedom.

Never again shall you be called “The God-forsaken Land” or the “Land That God Forgot.” Your new name will be “The Land of God’s Delight” and “The Bride,” for the Lord delights in you and will claim you as his own. Isaiah 62:4 TLB)

Message: Getting Through Troubled Waters

Israel had been miraculously delivered from slavery. Before the Israelite people could enter the Promised Land, they had a major obstacle in their path – the Jordan River. There was no way the Israelite people could cross the river on their own. They needed supernatural help. Crossing the troubled water involved a:

  • challenge (verses 3-4)
  • command (verse 5)
  • commitment (verses 9-13)
  • crossing (verses 14-17)

We all have troubled waters, a “Jordan River,” and need God’s supernatural help to get to the other side. Why does God tell us to do something when we can’t? So when we receive His help, His provision, and His power, the result will be that God will get the glory and the honor due to His holy name. It’s not what we have done – it’s what God has done.

Following God may not be the easiest thing to do, but it will be the best thing you will do! Put your trust in God, and He will get you through the troubled waters.

Message: Changing the Heart

Is your heart right with God? God knows our heart. He knows our thoughts, motives, and intents. No matter how far a person’s heart is from God, God can change it. With Him, change is possible. So how do you have a change of heart?

  • Be willing to turn from your sins.
  • Commit your life and surrender to Jesus Christ as your only Savior.
  • Follow after Him.

Are you willing to turn from your sin and commit your life to Jesus Christ as your only Savior? Ask God for help. Pray Psalm 51:10 which says, “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”

My prayer is that you will allow God to do great things in you!

“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.” Ezekiel 36:26 NIV
